Light City Baltimore Set for March 28-April 3

BALTIMORE, MD –  Light City Baltimore is a festival of light, music and innovation. The inaugural event will light up Baltimore’s Inner Harbor from March 28 – April 3 with art, music, performances, and an innovation conference. Central to the event, will be the 1.5-mile BGE Light Art Walk, with 50 illuminated experiences and art installations, musical performances, street theater and concerts, all free and open to the public. The event will kick off with the Light City Lantern Parade coordinated by the Creative Alliance on March 28 at 7 p.m., beginning at the Maryland Science Center and following the BGE Light Art Walk.

Image Engineering Kicks Off 2016 with Lighting, FX for Top Football Games

GLENDALE, AZ –  Image Engineering spent the beginning of 2016 working on the two largest football games of the year, the National Football Championship (pictured here) and the Super Bowl. At the National Football Championship Image Engineering provided lighting, cryogenic and flame special effects for the Clemson University and University of Alabama player introductions. These effects energized the players and fans helping to set the stage for what was a riveting game. An audience of over 70,000 fans were in attendance and over 25 million viewers watched on television.

University of Tennessee Event in Nashville Gets Bandit Lites Support

NASHVILLE – Some of the University of Tennessee’s top students, including Hannah Robison and Josh Dobbs, who are, respectively, Miss Tennessee and UT’s football team QB, arrived at Legislative Plaza in Nashville February 17 to meet with Tennessee legislators during the 10th Annual UT Day on the Hill. Bandit Lites provided Vari*Lite VL 2500s to cover the room with patterns and colors, while GRNLite LED Battens lit the upper balcony walls. ZR 44 smoke machines gave the senators and representatives a dramatic entrance. Additional lighting came from custom UT gobos shot with ETC 5 degree ellipsoidal, while the stage lighting and control was provided by the venue.

Eagles of Death Metal “Nos Amis” Tour in Europe Cut Short by Jesse Hughes’ Finger Injury

PARIS — The Eagles of Death Metal were able to return to Paris for a Feb. 16 concert performance at the Olympia music venue — free to survivors of the terrorist attack at the Bataclan on Nov. 13, 2015. But their 23-date “Nos Amis” tour of Europe, planned from Feb. 13 to early March, was cut short after singer and guitarist Jesse Hughes sustained a torn tendon in his finger.

Pyrotecnico Adds MA Lighting’s dot2 core Consoles for SFX Control

NEW CASTLE, PA – Pyrotecnico has invested in consoles from MA Lighting. The company took delivery of two dot2 core consoles with four dot2 F-wings. A.C.T Lighting, Inc. is the exclusive distributor of MA Lighting products in North America. Pyrotecnico plans to use the dot2 cores for DMX-controlled flames, CO2 jets, confetti and streamers, and DMX-driven laser technology for upcoming shows.
