Poland’s Mayday Festival Features 100+ Clay Paky Fixtures

KATOWICE, Poland – LD Michal Dobek created a memorable light show with more than 100 Clay Paky fixtures on the 16th edition of one of Poland’s biggest techno music events, the Mayday festival. Taking place across the three levels of Katowice’s Spodek Arena on Nov. 7, Dobek used 72 Clay Paky Sharpys and 32 Alpha Spot QWO 800 to shoot aerial effects over the audience at the event’s main stage. TSE supplied the festival lighting system and Dobek, Waldemar Osentowski and Marcin Kalużynski operated the main stage.

Hamburg’s Miniatur Wunderland Attraction Features Helene Fischer Concert Replica with Tiny Robe Fixtures

HAMBURG, Germany – Helene Fischer’s live show, lit with Robe fixtures, drew close to 110,000 to the Berlin Olympiastadion last summer. A miniature version of the show – at 1:87 scale – is now part of the Miniatur Wunderland attraction in Hamburg. Sven Hinzmann and the Miniatur Wunderland technical teams came up with miniaturized Robe gear including BMFL Spots, Pointes and LEDWash 600s for the tiny version of the stage show.

So working with theatrical consultants Bill Connor & Associates as well as Philips Strand Lighting Authorized Dealer StageLight, Rigdon was tasked with creating a more intimate relationship between the audience and the actors on stage, and he did so using 68 Showline SL PAR 155 ZOOM LED luminaires.

NOTTINGHAM, U.K. – For a production of ‘Terrorism’ by Oleg and Vladimir Presnyakov, Lucy Greaves, technical course leader at New College Nottingham, UK, met the need for a lighting effect that could focus on an actor’s face by turning to  Glyn O’Donoghue at Ambersphere Solutions. O’Donoghue put Thor Andre’ from the Technical Sales team in charge of the project and he liaised directly with Technical Tutor, Andy Atkin. They worked toward a solution that included Ayrton MagicDot-R and Ayrton NandoBeam S3 fixtures.
