LAS VEGAS – GLP reported a successful LDI 2015 show in Las Vegas, with a variety of awards and honors accompanying the positive response the company got at its booth and demo area. GLP also noted that its 2015 LDI booth, pictured here, was “the largest trade show stand they had ever assembled.”

Zedd’s ‘True Colors’ World Tour Includes Custom Color Laser Effects

ORLANDO, FL – For his True Colors world tour, an Aug. 6-Nov. 28 trek in support of his second studio album that goes by the same name, Russian-German musician Zedd turned to Pyrotecnico for a special effects assist. Along with custom pyrotechnic spinners, close proximity pyrotechnics, flames, cryogenics, confetti and streamers, Pyrotecnico used a total of 9 high power KVANT laser systems for the tour. They also utilized Pangolin’s Beyond software and FB3QS hardware to design and control the RGB Spectrum series lasers.

Miranda Lambert’s Latest Tour Includes Clay Paky, grandMA Gear

LOS ANGELES – Miranda Lambert’s most recent tour, which brings back the name of her first headlining tour in 2010, “Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars,” made use of a lighting rig supplied by Bandit Lites that included Clay Paky A.leda B-EYE K20s driven by grandMA2 light and ultra light consoles. Both the lights and the consoles were sourced via exclusive North American distributor A.C.T Lighting for the 13-city trek. Production designer Chris Lisle designed the looks.

Maccabi Games Opening Ceremony Lit with Robe Fixtures

BERLIN – The Opening Ceremony of the 2015 European Maccabi Games (EMG2015), Europe’s biggest Jewish sports event, was staged at the Waldbühne amphitheatre in Berlin’s Olympic Park, and officially declared open by German President Joachim Gauk. The event’s lighting rig, supplied by Berlin-based TSE and designed by LD Ronen Najar, centered on fixtures from Robe, with close to 200 units in all.

Canberra Theatre Centre Upgrades with ETC and Sound Advice

CANBERRA, Australia – The Canberra Theatre Centre (CTC) recently upgraded their lighting systems with an assist from staging and lighting specialists Sound Advice and Jands-supplied ETC fixtures. The CTC is made up of three venues: the 1,200-seat Canberra Theatre, a traditional proscenium arch theatre; the 600-seat Playhouse; and the 100-seat Courtyard Studio. A total of 248 fixtures made up the CTC upgrade including 10° ellipsoidal luminaires, 15-30° zoom ellipsoidal luminaires and 25-50° compact zoom ellipsoidal luminaires.

BURBANK, CA — U.K.-based Green Hippo announced plans to open a U.S. office in Burbank, CA. The location, the company’s first international office, is set to open in Jan. 2016.
