CRESSKILL, NJ — Crestron Electronics announced Nov. 4 that company founder and chairman George Feldstein died after battling brain cancer over the past year. Feldstein, a lifelong tinkerer, whose company developed AV and lighting control panels and systems for commercial applications along with residential control systems, was 73.

In Memoriam: Mario De Sisti, 1941-2014

ROME — Mario De Sisti, a lighting designer who founded De Sisti Lighting in early 1982, died Oct. 31, 2014. Survivors include sons Fabio and Sergio De Sisti, who plan to continue the company’s legacy of innovation with lighting and rigging product technologies, building on past successes that have advanced flicker-free lighting for television applications and such rigging innovations as motorized self-climbing hoists.

GoVision Acquires Content Provider Graystone Media

ARGYLE, TX – GoVision LP, based here, announced that it has acquired Graystone Media, a Portland, OR-based provider of graphics, production services and live-event content for large video screens and event venues. Graystone Media was founded in 2007 by Josh Echo-Hawk. The transaction gives GoVision another physical presence on the West coast, following its February acquisition of the assets of Los Angeles-based InnoVision Media Group. A GoVision spokesman noted that all Graystone Media employees have been retained.

BROOKLYN, NY – Absolut Vodka staged four events this fall, in New York, Johannesburg, Berlin and Sao Paulo. Called “Nights by Absolut,” the events drew crowds with well-known DJs, effectively creating a vibrant one-night club scene. The lighting gear chosen for the New York event, staged in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn, included Clay Paky Sharpy and B-Eye K20 fixtures with grandMA2 consoles for control – all distributed in the U.S. by A.C.T Lighting.
