PRG Provides Lighting, Rigging and Crew Solution for Arcade Fire at Earls Court

LONDON — PRG UK worked with Arcade Fire’s design team and touring and production management to supply the lighting, rigging and crew package for the indie rockers’ headline European Tour, including their shows at Earls Court in June.

JAKARTA, Indonesia – With a footprint exceeding 10,000 square feet (1,000 square meters) and a 50+-foot ceiling (16 meters), the Colosseum Club lives up to its name in terms of sheer size. To add new energy inside, club operators 1001 have relocated their operation within the space, and LEDsControl provided an elaborate lighting design that relies on a Madrix LED control solution.

LONDON — For a 17-date solo swing through U.K./Ireland arenas in April and March, Take That frontman Gary Barlow supported his late 2013 album, Since I Saw You Last. The visuals centered on a 100-foot-wide video screen, with added flash from the lighting rig. LD Tim Routledge used 46 A.Leda B-EYE K20 fixtures and 20 Sharpy Wash luminaires from Clay Paky, supplied via Neg Earth.

TRING, U.K. – Returning for a second year to the picturesque Hertfordshire, UK countryside, Chilfest 2014 took place here July 4-6. Staged by by production company Universal Event Productions, UEP took the opportunity to showcase a number of new fixtures from its inventory including SGM’s SP-6 SixPack pixel blinders, XC-5 RGB color strobes, P-5 wash lights and G-Spot profiles. The six SGM SP-6 SixPack pixel blinders were installed downstage and used for audience illumination and 10 new SGM XC-5 RGB LED strobes were rigged above and used for classic strobe effects as well as floods.

VIENNA, Austria – For the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra’s 2014 Summer Night Concert, staged on the grounds of Vienna’s Schönbrunn Palace on May 29, LD Helmut Krammer used Robe fixtures to light four key areas – the main stage; the flower beds left and right of the main stage; the Neptunbrunnen Fountains at the back of the stage and the Gloriette structure, located at the top of the hill directly behind the stage location.

BUENOS AIRES — “Stravaganza 2014 Water in Art,” which is touring Argentina and neighboring Uruguay and Paraguay this year, features a lighting design by Ariel “El Gato” Ponce that includes XR1200 Wash moving heads from D.T.S. Lighting. Ariel Diwan and Flavio Mendoza are also playing key roles with the elaborate production.

BRUSSELS – Riedel Communications supplied the European Parliament with a large-scale MediorNet real-time media network and Artist digital matrix intercom system for the 2014 European Parliament elections held here May 22-25, 2014. The installation provided a redundant network for HD video, audio, and broadcast-quality intercom signal management, routing, and processing for the once-every-five-years EU elections.
