NEW YORK – The annual Governors Ball music festival, which originated on Governors Island as a one-day event 2011 but has since been staged on Randall’s Island in the city’s East River on multiple days, had a long list of headliners including Axwell/Ingrosso (pictured here), OutKast, The Strokes, Jack White, Skrillex and more. Held June 6-8, two of the stages used gear from Bandit Lites. The Bandit arsenal included Martin MAC Viper Profiles, Clay Paky Sharpys, GRN LED moving washes and lamp bars and a variety of grandMA consoles.
LD Jamie Thompson’s Tour Rig for Bastille Includes GLP Gear
LONDON – LD Jamie Thompson turned to GLP’s LED Impression series to help create dramatic stage impact for this year’s world tour by Bastille. The production concept highlighted the triangle symbol which replaces the ‘A” in Bastille — and the impressions are used to line the upstage triangle and mid-stage diagonals. They are also rigged overhead for use as mid-air effects and to wash the stage.

AMSTERDAM – d3 Technologies’ 4x2Pro Systems were used for projection at The Royal Netherlands Air Force Open Days. As visitors entered the event, they would walk through a 100 meter tunnel, with two 70 meter projection screens on either side immersing them. Each tunnel required 12 projectors on each wall. Specially printed fabric depicting the inside of an aircraft was mounted on the structure with projection holes cut into the fabric.
