LONDON – LD Jamie Thompson turned to GLP’s LED Impression series to help create dramatic stage impact for this year’s world tour by Bastille. The production concept highlighted the triangle symbol which replaces the ‘A” in Bastille — and the impressions are used to line the upstage triangle and mid-stage diagonals. They are also rigged overhead for use as mid-air effects and to wash the stage.

AMSTERDAM – d3 Technologies’ 4x2Pro Systems were used for projection at The Royal Netherlands Air Force Open Days. As visitors entered the event, they would walk through a 100 meter tunnel, with two 70 meter projection screens on either side immersing them. Each tunnel required 12 projectors on each wall. Specially printed fabric depicting the inside of an aircraft was mounted on the structure with projection holes cut into the fabric.

JOHANNESBURG – Responsible for creating a one-night-only EDM spectacular, the Gearhouse Group supplied all the technical production for DJ Armin van Buuren’s Armin Only Intense World Tour stop in Johannesburg. A total of 460 DuoLED 18” panels were configured into a 21 meter wide screen backdrop, with LED accents on the side stages and front stage cladding.
SOMERSET, UK – Bristol-based lighting and visuals rental company, Fineline Lighting supplied lighting and rigging including ground support systems to five stages at the 2014 Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts. This included the Acoustic, Cabaret, Circus, Astrolabe Stages and HMS WOW at the festival, staged here June 25-29.

The Design: “Martin Phillips’ set, lighting and video design was inspired by the band’s overall aesthetic, and designed with their custom performance MIDI interface called ‘The Blade’ in mind. While there are no ‘traditional’ instruments on stage, the band is playing their music live. Music goes from powerful anthemic sounds to beautiful string sounds and dark, moody melodies. The lighting and video complement both extremes.”
