Museum of Australian Democracy Opts for Robe MiniMe Fixtures

CANBERRA, Australia — Elite Sound & Lighting recently demoed Robe Robin MiniMe fixtures for the technical team at the Museum of Australian Democracy (MOAD), which is located at the Old Parliament House Building here. MOAD is now using four of the fixtures for a variety of temporary exhibitions and smaller events. The attendees, between 15-25 years in age, were part of The Performing Arts Network of South Africa’s (PANSA) Youth Theatre Project in the Eastern Cape province.

Barco Projectors Create Immersive Visuals at Vancouver Aquarium

VANCOUVER, BC — An ambitious, multi-million dollar upgrade to the Vancouver Aquarium here includes “Connections 360,” which wraps visitors in an immersive HD projection environment in the aquarium’s Teck Communications Gallery. The exhibit’s 185-plus-foot-wide screen visuals come from seven Barco HDX-W20 FLEX large-venue projectors supplied by Barco distributor SC Media.

Parking Lot Shooting Leads to Lockdown Outside Red Rocks

MORRISON, CO — A police search following a parking lot shooting incident that injured three members of rapper Schoolboy Q’s entourage led to a lockdown of all roads leading to the Red Rocks Amphitheatre here late on June 19 while police tried to find the shooter. Although Schoolboy Q had been in the car at the time of the shooting, he was uninjured. The shooting occurred at about 10:30, as the concert featuring Nas and Lotus along with Schoolboy Q came to and end. The shooter remained at large despite a roadblock and car-by-car search of exiting concertgoers that continued until about 3 a.m.

Ludus Launches Ticketing Program for Theatres

HOLLAND, MI — Ludus’ new ticketing program for theatres, which launched in mid-June, is based on a custom ticketing program in use for the theatre at Holland High School here during the 2013/14 school year. The software has been designed to be easy to set up and use. Features include a custom web URL for theatres to send customers to, customizable text and colors, the ability provide refunds and exchanges from the admin panel, and the ability to allow customers to print tickets or receive them digitally on their phones, mass marketing to attendees, and integration with box office hardware.
