Avolites Ai Media Server To Power South Africa’s First Choreographed 3D Video-Mapping Experience

South Africa – The Avolites Ai Media Server EX series was used to power a choreographed 3D video-mapping experience for Nissan. “Our scenic team designed a 24m wide 3D stage set that required the Ai Media Server to power three 14K HD Christie Projectors, which covered the area,” explains Dillon Jearey. “The biggest challenge for us was that the deadline between content load-in and show production was incredibly tight. Thankfully, the Ai proved itself to be extremely versatile and reliable, handling the fast-tracked programming schedule with speed and ease.”

Dutch Dance Event, Qapital, Lit with Clay Paky Gear

AMSTERDAM – Inspired by the architecture of Paris’ Eiffel Tower, show designer Mark Rietveld sought to build a giant industrial DJ set for the Qapital dance event. Rietveld used 68 x Clay Paky Sharpys to create fierce light architecture that mirrored the show’s giant structural set. “The brief for the lighting design was to accentuate the structure and give it as many dimensions as possible,” explains Rietveld. “The Sharpys had a specific role in the design, they were there to extend the wings of the stage in the ceiling and to add some punch and power to the center of the set, shooting light down into the crowds.”

Video of the Week: Heading to InfoComm? Don’t Let This Happen To You!

LAS VEGAS — InfoComm’s 2014 exhibit halls open June 18-20, overlapping with the Electric Daisy Carnival (June 20-22). Needless to say, Las Vegas’ McCarran Airport and most Las Vegas hotels will be jam-packed this week. All the more reason to opt against accepting a $400 voucher for an overbooked flight — which led to LD Richard Dunn getting bumped from a subsequent flight back to his home in the Atlanta area.
