NASHVILLE, TENN. – Featuring a performance from Grammy-nominated country music star as David Nail, Nashville’s Blood:Water charity helped raise awareness for clean water and HIV/AIDS. Bandit Lites’ Don Lockridge has been the project manager for the event for the last three years and was instrumental in the execution from a production standpoint. Bandit provided LED GRNLite 336 Pars, MAC 250s, and a Roadhog console operated by Aaron Swetland.

USITT Adds New Officers, Board Members for Three-Year Term Starting July 1

SYRACUSE, NY – USITT noted that three new officers — Mark Shanda, Jack Feivou and Carolyn Satter, who were elected by USITT members in late 2013, will officially begin their new three-year terms starting July 1. They join Markèta Fantová, who was re-elected as USITT’s Vice President of International Activities. USITT also added six directors to its 30-member board, who will also have three year terms beginning July 1. The newcomers include Brent “Mickey” Henry, Rafael Jean, Shane Kelly, Karen Manness, Michael McNamara and Vickie Scott.

LOS ANGELES – For a private concert here for 800 at Sony Studios here that marked the mid-May release of Coldplay’s sixth studio album, Ghost Stories, XL Video, Ben Miles, Phil Haynes and Phil Johnston created a unique visual environment with 46 Panasonic 20K projectors and a control system that included five Avolites Media Ai S8 systems.

Touring Production of “Brief Encounter” by Noel Coward Relies on ETC Gear for Control

MIDDLETON, WI – The touring production of Noel Coward’s Brief Encounter uses a variety of ETC products for its lighting control. For the Australian tour, electrician Ben Nichols used an ETC Eos Titanium console, complete with ETC Gateways and an ETC Remote Focus Unit to facilitate the focusing process. The lighting rig features over sixty flown fixtures, including ETC Source Four Revolution moving lights with custom strings and gobos, as well as Source Four profiles and PARs.

JOHANNESBURG – South African TV studio Red Pepper recently underwent an upgrade project that focused on the addition of LED fixtures for its studio facilities in Linden, Melville and Braamfontein. DWR Distribution provided 14 Philips Selecon Studio Panels, six Philips Selecon PLcyc1 luminaires and eight Philips Selecon SPX Zoomspot luminaires for the upgrade, which benefited from input from set designer Michael Gill and LDs Joshua Cutts and Francois van der Merwe.
