SCUNTHORPE, UK – dbn supplied lighting equipment and design for the recent production of “Cycle Song” on the grounds of Brumby Hall, Scunthorpe.The show told the story of Albert ‘Lal’ White, Scunthorpe steelworker and award-winning cyclist. dbn’s Pete Robinson created a lighting design for the show. It featured a stark atmospheric distressed industrial set designed by Rhys Jarman, a cast of hundreds and two massive cranes, which were used in the finale to help the moon rise.

REDCLIFFE, QUEENSLAND, Australia – Redcliffe State High School’s new theatre, ‘The Bird’s Nest,’ offers students the latest in equipment while they are learning how to create their own performances. However, there was a problem with the power. Conventional lamps were constantly failing. The LSC Redback dimmers came to the rescue as they have a minimum/maximum setting. So by limiting the dimmers output to 80 percent, the Redback Dimmer now supplies lamps with sub 240v – the result being that premature lamp failure has not since occurred.

LONDON – Avolites Ltd appoints Koy Neminathan as Sales Director and JB Toby as Technical Director. Neminathan joined Avolites Ltd in February 2000 and has worked as Business Development Manager and Sales Manager. He succeeeds Steve Warren, who remains an active director of Avolites and managing director of Avolites Media Ltd. Toby joined the company’s R&D team in 1994 and created the ART dimming range. CHAUVET Rides with Bogore’s Cream Machine at EDC

LAS VEGAS — Israeli dubstep producer DJ Borgore recently debuted his 2012 tour at the Electric Daisy Carnival, mixing rhythms from inside a custom-made ice cream truck built of CHAUVET Professional MVP 18 video panels. The Borgore Cream Machine made its entrance at EDC and will tour again in the fall. The event was spiced up by pole dancers on picnic tables and big custom-made ice cream cones placed on stage that shot cream at the audience.
