Jean Lariviere Rejoins HES as Regional Sales Manager

AUSTIN, TX – Jean Lariviere has rejoined entertainment lighting manufacturer High End Systems (HES), part of the Barco group, in a new role as a regional sales manager. His assignment includes sales development for the Canada region and also select U.S. key business partner accounts. He is based at the Austin, TX headquarters.
For the past seven years, Lariviere worked with equipment brokers SHS Global, where as CTO he was responsible for sourcing product and also client technical services.

Who’s Your Hometown Hero? Vote Today!

LAS VEGAS — It’s time for PLSN readers to vote for their favorite hometown lighting  companies for the 2012 Hometown Hero Awards competition. The ballot is now online at plsn.com/hometown. It includes a total of 30 companies — five from five U.S. regions and five more from Canada — that were nominated by PLSN readers in June. Voting takes place throughout July. The six regional winners will be announced in August and included on the 2012 Parnelli Awards ballot. The final winner will then receive the 2012 Hometown Hero Lighting Company of the Year award at the Parnelli Awards gala, set for Oct. 20, 2012 at the Mirage Resort in Las Vegas.

LONDON – UK lighting designer Lucy Carter has used 16 Philips Selecon PLCyc LED luminaires for the Royal Opera House’s production of Sum. The Linbury Studio room – comprising four high walls each of which feature a built-in video screen – is washed throughout with colors to denote the changing mood and atmosphere of each story in the opera. “I needed a fixture that could give me multiple color choices and fully wash the room, but not demand too much space,” the LD said.
