LAS VEGAS – Pyrotek Special Effects and its sister company Laser Design Productions provided the effects for the 2012 Billboard Music Awards ceremony May 20 at the MGM Grand Arena. Working with Show Producer Brian Stonestreet and Art Director Alana Billingsley on the scenic elements, the special effects enhanced a string of performances from LMFAO, Linkin Park, Justin Bieber, Nelly Furtado, The Wanted and more.

Non-Compliant Stage Replaced at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

INDIANAPOLIS — One of five stages set up to entertain racing fans at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) during the Indianapolis 500 had to be replaced last week after safety inspectors deemed it non-compliant with Indiana’s new safety regulations, which were drafted in response to last summer’s deadly stage collapse at the Indianapolis State Fair.

NEW YORK – Pete’s Big TVs was hired for the third year to provide video screens and monitors for NBC TV’s  “Celebrity Apprentice Finale.” The live broadcast May 20 took place at a theatre within the American Museum of Natural History. The set resembled Donald Trump’s board room as seen on the series, with a Gtech 20mm flex screen serving as the Manhattan skyline at night as seen through “windows.”
