Save the Date for ETC’s 2015 CUE Professional Development Conference

MIDDLETON, WI – ETC is gearing up for its biennial CUE professional development conference, which will be held in Madison, Wisconsin, from June 26th through 28th, 2015. Registration for the conference will open on Monday, January 19th, with a special early-bird discount offered until Saturday, February 28th. ETC will also offer several sponsorships to help offset the cost of the conference, transportation and/or lodging. Sponsorship applications will become available on Monday, January 19th.

MIAMI LAKES, FL – Lighting designer Abbas Ritscher of The Design Oasis used 32 of Chauvet Professional’s Nexus Aw 7×7 panels at the Orange Bowl halftime show. The event, featuring the band Little Big Time, took place midway through the matchup between Georgia Tech and Mississippi State. That game took place at Sun Life Stadium on Dec. 31, 2014. Georgia Tech won, 49-34.

DALLAS – Jack Calmes, founder of Syncrolite and founding partner of Showco, died Jan. 5 after a long illness. He was 71. Calmes is remembered for a long roster of innovations ranging from touring sound production to the first moving lights to the big beams adding punch to the visuals for the world’s largest sporting events.
