SYDNEY — The International Fleet Review, which commemorated the arrival of the original Royal Australian Navy fleet in Sydney Harbour a century ago, involved close to 40 warships, 16 tall ships, more than 60 aircraft, 10 military bands, and 8,000 sailors from 17 nations around the world. Laser Show Beamed on Table Mountain Honors Nelson Mandela

CAPE TOWN, South Africa — To honor the memory of Nelson Mandela, the anti-Apartheid activist who emerged from more than 27 years of incarceration to serve as president of South Africa from 1994 to 1999, the Western Cape Government hired LaserX to beam imagery and messages on the side of Table Mountain near Cape Town from Dec. 8-16. The laser show began three days after Mandela, winner of the 1993 Nobel Peace Prize, died (on Dec. 5, 2013 at age 95).

They used SGM fixtures for the Spanish Steps, The Train Station Square’s installation named The Spider and the Hotel Saksildhus (pictured here) with  SGM lighting fixtures.
