British Soccer Museum Uses Dataton Watchout for Visuals

MANCHESTER, U.K. — The National Football Museum here, which reopened after a technical upgrade in mid-2012, now features an AV introduction to how soccer became “the people’s game” in England. Systems integrator D J Willrich (DJW) relied upon Dataton Watchout software to manage and coordinate the museum’s visuals, including the 15.9-meter curved screen pictured here.

NEW YORK — LD Clifton Taylor lit the New York Philharmonic’s A Dancer’s Dream: Two Works by Stravinsky with a lighting rig that included Showline SL BAR 640, Philips Selecon PLCyc LED, Philips Vari-Lite VL3500 Spot, VL1000 ERS and VL5B Wash luminaires from Philips Entertainment Lighting. The production combined two of Igor Stravinsky’s ballet scores, “The Fairy’s Kiss” and “Petrushka,” into one production.

Zurich Street Parade 2013 Featured Laser Shows, W-DMX

ZURICH, Switzerland — Drawing close to 950,000 people, the Zurich Street Parade 2013 featured nearly 200 DJs performing on 30 trucks and eight large-scale stages. Along with such headliners as Bob Sinclar, Westbam, Nicky Romero and NERVO, the event featured Laserworld AG’s laser shows from three stages. Laserworld used Wireless Solution Sweden’s W-DMX for its peripheral systems including smoke and haze machines.

TINLEY PARK, IL — After the Christian Life Center (CLC) here opted to supplement its existing technical infrastructure and add automated lighting technology to its services, the church brought in lighting consultant Jason Reberski from JR Lighting Design Inc. Reberski included 12 GLP impression X4S fixtures as part of the upgraded rig for the church, which has a congregation of about 1,000 people.

Colorado Concerts Canceled Amid Heavy Rain, Flooding

DENVER — With communities along Colorado’s Front Range pounded by more than half their usual annual rainfall within the span of a few days in mid-September, resulting floods and rock slides created widespread damage to the region’s mountain infrastructure, knocking out power, backing up sewers and washing out many of the roadways that wind their way alongside normally-dry riverbanks. Numerous concerts had to be canceled or postponed as a result.
