ESA is also planning a presentation and roundtable discussion in Las Vegas Nov. 23.

2013 Parnelli Award, “IT” Award Nominations Continue, Tickets Now Available!

LAS VEGAS — Nominations are pouring in for both the 2013 Parnelli Awards and Indispensable Technology (“IT”) Awards. The nomination forms for both awards categories will be open through late September. If you haven’t done so already, now’s the time to choose the people, companies and products that will appear on the final 2013 Parnelli ballot. That ballot will be posted online for voting throughout the month of October. Be sure to also reserve your spot (or table) at this year’s event, set for Nov. 23, 2013. It’s expected to be a sellout like last year, but tickets are still available.

KNOXVILLE, TN — Milos Group’s Tomcat subsidiary named Scott Johnson president/CEO. Johnson joined Tomcat in 2011 as a project manager before being promoted to VP of Design. MALIBU, CA — The staging focal point for Prometheus Bound, which is being performed through Sept. 28, 2013 at the Getty Villa here by the CalArts Center for New Performance and Trans Arts Production, is undeniably the colossal 23-foot steel wheel that the protagonist is strapped to during much of the show. LA ProPoint provided the wheel for the production.

Million Second Quiz Counts on Pete’s Big TVs

NEW YORK – Video equipment rental company Pete’s Big TVs is supplying the set of NBC’s new prime time interactive TV game show, The Million Second Quiz, with a multitude of broadcast-quality video screens, flexible digital signage, monitors and a video crew. Premiering Sept. 9, the show clock runs the competition for one million seconds nonstop until Sept. 19.

Concerts Canceled by Flooding in Colorado, Drug Fears in the East

DENVER — Mother Nature issued a wallop to Colorado’s Front Range, pounding many communities with more than half their usual annual rainfall in the span of just a few days in mid-September. With some roads blocked by rock slides or washed out completely, some late-summer outdoor events were postponed or canceled. Affected venues included Mishawaka Amphitheatre, northwest of Fort Collins, and Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO. In the East, a different scourge — a drug called Molly — canceled some EDM concerts.
