More Than 30 Sponsors Sign On to Support 2013 Parnelli Awards
LAS VEGAS — To date, more than 30 sponsoring companies have stepped up and announced their support for the 13th Annual Parnelli Awards, set for Nov. 23 at the Mirage Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Drug-Linked Deaths Cancel EDM Show in Boston and E-Zoo Festival’s Third Day in NYC
BOSTON and NEW YORK — Separate drug-related incidents claimed the lives of three EDM revelers in late August, with one death canceling an EDM concert in Boston on Aug. 28 and two more deaths leading to the cancellation of the final day’s performances for the three-day Electric Zoo Music Festival at Randall’s Island Park in NYC over Labor Day weekend, Aug. 30-Sept. 1. “Wild Oats” at U.K.’s Minack Theatre Lit with White Light Gear
PENZANCE, U.K. — For the Shattered Windscreen Theatre Company’s production of Wild Oats at the outdoor, seaside, carved-from-the-granite Minack Theatre here in August 2013, White Light provided lighting equipment to the specifications of LD Ken Allford. The gear, which complemented the Minack Theatre’s own stock of fixtures, included a range of ETC Source Four profiles, Philips Selecon Acclaim fresnels, Robert Juliat followspots and PAR fixtures.

RANCHO DOMINGUEZ, CA — Sew What? Inc., based here, has been supporting popular acts including The Zac Brown Band, Sublime with Rome, and Little Big Town with new stage drapery designs and invisible UV imagery. For the Zac Brown Band’s recent tour (pictured here), for example, Sew What? made a white cyclorama that under UV light revealed a full-color image of the Day of the Dead-inspired cover of the band’s album, Uncaged.

LONDON — LarMac Live, based here, provided production support for the Creamfields UK dance festival in Daresbury, Cheshire, U.K. for the fourth consecutive year. Ian “Lar” Greenway worked with Cream and Live Nation as production manager with an assist from Matt Smith and Siobhan Shaw. The long roster of production companies supporting the two outdoor arenas and nine tented areas also included Colour Sound Experiment, XL Video and Adlib.

Kent State May 4 Visitors Center Gets AV Assist from Alcorn McBride
KENT, OH — Kent State University’s newly dedicated May 4 Visitors Center marks the tragic day in 1970 when a confrontation between students and the National Guard over a Vietnam War protest left four students dead and nine wounded. The university selected Alcorn McBride’s A/V Binloop to playback the audio and video in the exhibit.
