FLUSHING, NY – The US Open tennis classic at Arthur Asche Stadium hit a grand slam the first night of the tournament with an opening night ceremony that set a new standard. For the first time at the U.S. Open, the center court was turned into a giant video board with images of past champions flashing across the court during a high-energy music and light show. The lights were split into two groups. LOS ANGELES – Rental company Volt Lites, led by LD Matthew Shimamoto, recently purchased GLP’s new impression X4 moving head for their inventory. Prior to purchasing, they decided to trial some of the fixtures on a new TV show that is set to air this month. “We already knew the X4 looked great to the human eye, but we needed to see how they looked under the scrutinizing eye of the camera — and they performed exceptionally well,” he said.
