In Memoriam: David Whitehead, 1953-2013

LONDON — David Whitehead, founder and majority shareholder of Stage Electrics, died Feb. 18 after a 15-month battle with cancer. After founding the company in Exeter in 1979, Whitehead made it his life’s work, bringing to it his abiding passion for lighting design. After his diagnosis, and before stepping down as managing director, Whitehead completed a transition plan for the company. Whitehead, an active member of his church, is survived by his wife, Caroline, and three children.
