IES Graduate Grant Open for Submissions

NEW YORK – The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) announces a new IES Graduate Grant Program, designed to encourage advanced scholarly work in Lighting Design and Illuminating Engineering. Two grants are available for award: Ph.D. ($30,000) and Master’s ($15,000). The awards are expected to last two years for a Ph.D. and one year for a Master’s. Application deadline is March 1.

Switch Uses Pixel Mapping for St. Louis Arts Awards

ST. LOUIS – Experiential marketing agency Switch: Liberate Your Brand produced the stage show and video segments Jan. 21 for the St. Louis Arts Awards. The event at the Chase Park Plaza also honored local native musician Chuck Berry with a Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award. To set the scene, Switched used pixel mapping with Barco FLM-HD20 projectors to project 3-D animation effects. The project took two weeks from conception to completion.

NASHVILLE – Bandit Lites is on the road again with Miranda Lambert, who is touring with Dierks Bentley on her Locked and Reloaded tour. LD Chris Lisle has worked with Lambert for eight years, and says this is her biggest production yet. Lisle’s challenge was incorporating a design based around Dierks Bentley’s portion of the show.
