MADISON, WI – Full Compass Systems has produced a holiday CD titled “A Winter’s Wish” to help raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin. Staff members volunteered many hours of planning, arranging, rehearsing, performing, recording and editing the tracks on the CD, and also created the cover artwork and CD design.

USITT Already Seeking Designs for 2015 Prague Quadrennial

NEW YORK – The creation of an exhibit representing the U.S. at the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space requires a long lead time. In fact, USITT has already announced that it is seeking design submissions for PQ 2015, set for June of that year. The submission deadline for individuals and teams for an architectural and sculptural space with the theme, Art in Performance Design: Dreams of Here and Now is Feb. 8, 2013.

SOUTH KIRBY, YORKSHIRE, UK – One of the UK’s biggest arena rehearsal facilities is working with Richard Young’s new Load Cell Rental company to provide an accurate weighing service to its client base of touring shows and bands. Independent riggers will install clip-on Load Cells during load in, return to record the weight once the rig is hanging, then produce an independent assessment of the weight of the system. Clients will receive a report that includes calibration certificates of the cells used, which can be forwarded to all venues on the tour as part of the health and safety documentation in addition to the rigging plot.

Elation Shines at El Paso Christmas Light Show

EL PASO – For the past seven years, a “must see” destination for El Paso-area holiday lighting buffs is the home of business executive Fred Loya. Stretching nearly a city block in length, Loya’s residence becomes something akin to a major tourist attraction. Elation staff member Esteban De Torre, also credited with the much-noted lighting design for Elation’s booth at LDI this year, created the holiday light display, pixel mapping the entire Loya home and programming the timecode sequences with Elation’s Compu Live DMX lighting software.
