Staging Concepts Seats 17,000+ for NCAA Final Four

MINNEAPOLIS – Staging Concepts is supplying a temporary seating configuration for more than 17,000 fans for the NCAA Final Four at the Superdome in New Orleans. Almost 4,700 portable platforms supported by a highly engineered scaffold style understructure will cover an area of 188,216 sq. ft. This seating configuration involves a major move of the basketball court from the end zone, where it was in 2003 when New Orleans last hosted the Final Four, to the middle of the arena near the action.

PRINCETON JUNCTION, NJ – Three companies have recently joined the Rental and Staging Network (RSN), bringing the total membership to 19. Video West, Audio Visual Frischkorn and CMI Communications help strengthen the organization’s goal, which is to become the “go to” source for AV/staging services.

LAS VEGAS – Morpheus Lights is now the exclusive US distributor of professional grade LED luminaires designed and manufactured by French company Ayrton S.A.R.L. Morpheus introduces the new line March 29-31 at the USITT Stage Expo 2012  in Long Beach, CA. See them at Booth 283.

DALLAS – Philips Strand Lighting and Philips Selecon were on-hand to showcase their array of lighting, dimming and controls products at Port Lighting Systems’ Open House. The event in Seabrook, NH, showcased products using a Mardi Gras theme, with the party taking over the newly expanded warehouse with conventional, LED and automated lighting, along with lasers and other special effects.

LAS VEGAS — The 2012 Parnelli Awards return to Las Vegas this October, and plans are already underway for an even bigger and better event than last year’s celebration in Orlando. Along with the evening’s highlights, including Kenny Chesney’s surprise appearance to present Ed Wannebo (pictured here) with his Lifetime Achievement Award, the highlight reel features masters of ceremonies Flo and Eddie (of Turtles fame) and the presentation of the Parnelli Visionary Award (to Jim Fackert) and Parnelli Audio Innovator Award (to Kenton Forsythe).
