Panamax/Furman Awarded Patent for UPS IR Control Link

PETALUMA, CA – Panamax/Furman has been awarded U.S. Patent No. 7,755,216, entitled "Uninterrupted Power Supply With IR Control Link." Featuring 20 claims, the patent covers the learning IR control feature in the company's uninterrupted power supply (UPS) products, which utilizes a projector's remote control system to interface with the UPS. By learning the projector's power control infrared (IR) signals, these Panamax/Furman units allow expensive projector bulbs to go through a proper cool-down cycle in a power outage before shutting off, thus extending their lifetime.
