Hippotizer drives 61m pixels onto giant umbrella at ISE

Visitors to ISE were greeted by the sight of a custom-made 7.5m umbrella in February, where 61,500,000 pixels of animations enlivened every panel using six 10-bit, 4K, 20,000-Lumen projectors which were driven by Hippotizer Boreal+ MK2 Media Servers. The project was realised by UK-based Motion Mapping, who were challenged with creating the concept and delivering the unusual exhibit, which was rigged on the Epson stand.

Swan Park Theatre, a cornerstone of the arts within the City of Swan, has experienced a transformative upgrade in its lighting setup, with PROLIGHTS lighting solutions provided by Show Technology. Managed by the Calisthenics Society of Western Australia, the theatre serves as a versatile venue for a wide array of events, from dance performances and theatrical productions to conferences and community gatherings. Theatre Consultant Matthew Nankivell, together with system integrator Technical Alliance, led the initiative to upgrade the venue’s lighting, with a focus on integrating LED technology to replace outdated systems.

Scott Chmielewski Design for Mat Franco Vegas Show Features Elation DARTZ

Scott Chmielewski of DMDS7UDIOS is employing a large rig of DARTZ 360 narrow-beam luminaires from Elation to support the mesmerizing performances of renowned magician Mat Franco at The LINQ Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Chmielewski addressed an initial refresh of the show in 2021 before undertaking a complete redesign of the entire show, stage and theatre in early 2023, collaborating with Director Brian Burke, Art Director Joe Oneill and Mat Franco himself.

Robe Helps Perpetuum Celebrate 40 at Ljubljana’s Cankarjev Dom

Popular Slovenian vocal group, Perpetuum Jazzile, celebrated their 40th anniversary with a series of high-profile shows at Ljubljana’s Cankarjev Dom, the country’s biggest theater venue, asking Crt Birsa from design studio Blackout to create lighting suitable for the occasion. With typical enthusiasm and imaginative zeal – plus the assistance of substantial quantities of Robe moving lights – Crt created an impressive visual showcase, working closely with Mark Pirc, brought in as video content creator and co-show director with Aljaz Bastic for these special performances.

A Monumental and Memorable Finale

The creative team for Daddy Yankee’s final ‘La Meta’ shows in Puerto Rico had a clear goal in mind: to give the artist and his fans the ultimate show experience as a send-off. Everyone on the creative team had their own favorite moments, from the top of the show where Daddy Yankee performs on his lighting platform and is floating back and forth to the beginning of Act III where the full scale of this 1,000-fixture production was presented to the reveal, in Act IV, of the giant inflatable statue of the artist that appears to cry golden tears. But the most memorable aspect of the production for Lighting Programmer/Operator Will Flavin was the behind-the-scenes teamwork that was required to stage this enormous production in the first place.

ESTA’s Technical Standard Program Seeking Public Reviews

ESTA’s Technical Standard Program announces three newly-published standard reaffirmations, and seven documents now in public review: Three of ESTA’s existing standards were approved for reaffirmation recently, and have been published, now available for free. Seven documents – one reaffirmation, two new draft standards, and four revised draft standards – are now in public review until 08 April 2024.
