INDIO, CA –– Desert Trip, a two-weekend, six-day extravaganza that ran from Oct. 7-9 and 14-16, featured top rockers including the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Roger Waters, and the Who. The event was produced by Goldenvoice, the company that runs Coachella and is owned by AEG, and took place on the same festival grounds, making the festival’s nickname, “Oldchella,” all but inevitable, given the average age of the rock legends performing there, most of whom started their careers in music more than 50 years ago. Syncrolite noted how its fixtures were used for Roger Waters’ visual design.

MINNEAPOLIS – On Sept. 18, the Minnesota Vikings kicked off their first home game of the 2016 NFL season at their newly constructed home field, the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.  To honor the groundbreaking season opener, a special Minnesota themed halftime event was orchestrated to invigorate fans and bolster hometown pride. The plan was to pay tribute to late hometown popstar and lifelong Vikings fan, Prince.  The halftime show tribute would include a visual montage of Prince’s career highlights projected digitally across the stadium field as the Minnesota Orchestra and gospel group, The Steeles performed Prince’s iconic hit, Purple Rain.  Quince Imaging provided the in-stadium projections.
