MENDOZA, Argentina – Merino Producciones added lighting to its audio production duties for the Fiesta de la Vendimia (Grape Harvest Festival) at Frank Romero Day Greek Theater, located in Mendoza’s General San Martin Park. Merino Producciones’ Mariano Velasco looked after the lighting rig, which included an assortment of lighting fixtures from PR Lighting.

USITT Provides Free Rigging Inspections to 11 School Stages

NEW YORK – Continuing its Rigging Safety Initiative (RSI) program, which USITT launched five years ago, the association recently approved free stage rigging inspections and safety training for 11 more schools, located in Natick, MA; Woodbury, MN; Medford, NJ; Chazy and Fredonia, NY; Elyria, OH; Greendale, WI;  and in Houston and Wayland, TX. Since its launch, USITT has accepted more than 120 schools into the RSI program. The schools get a free rigging inspection and safety training performed by USITT’s partner rigging companies, which charge USITT a reduced rate.

AMSTERDAM – For DJ Armin van Buuren’s new ‘Armin Only’ mega-show at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome, titled ‘Armin Only – Embrace,’ the same technical and creative team backing the ‘Armin Only – Intense’ world tour in 2014 used 162 Robe moving lights. LAS VEGAS – Pitbull performed at the Axis in Planet Hollywood on the LED-video-drenched Las Vegas Strip with a visual twist – Chauvet’s 4×4 COB LED panels instead of LED video displays. Michael Smalley and Gabe Fraboni of Twin Designs positioned 138 Nexus 4×4 panels on the fascia of tri-level band and dancer risers.
