LED Cube Promotes VERY’s Spring 2016 Fashions with Assist from Avolites Ai S6 Server

LONDON – To promote British retailer VERY’s Spring 2016 fashion collection, Transition Video designed and fabricated a 5m x 5m LED cube clad with LED panels on three sides. Through their ad agency, St Luke’s, VERY turned to PrettyBird for creative content.  Working with PrettyBird’s Dori Oskowitz, Mark Calvert from RES used Avolites’ Ai S6 server to pixel map and play back the digital content, which included a fast moving array of dancers surrounding the cube.

Elation Platinum Fixtures Light Off-Broadway’s ‘Death for Five Voices’

NEW YORK – LD Susan Nicholson used Elation Professional’s Platinum Spot 35 Pro moving heads for front lighting, backlighting and texturing on a recent Off Broadway production of the new musical drama, Death for Five Voices. Nicholson used the Platinum Spot 35 Pro for front light and highlights for the production, which was staged March 24 through April 17 at the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture in New Yorky. The production was inspired by the life and work of Renaissance composer Carlo Gesualdo.

Mega-Lite’s Baby Color VW is designed to serve as a bright variable white fixture that is ultra-compact in size. The unit is equipped with 7 5W LEDs and has less than a 5” square body. The fixture has a 20°beam angle and comes with a diffuser that increases the beam angle to 25°. The Baby Color VW is controllable via DMX 512 and has amber, warm white, cool white, dimmer, CTO and strobe channels. It also has the control options audio trigger and master slave. The Baby Color VW has a double mounting yoke so it can to be set on the floor or hang from a structure. It has a digital display designed for ease of use. And the unit is equipped with power con in and out and 3-pin or 5-pin XLR connections.

TITUSVILLE, FL – The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex decked the halls last Christmas with a Holidays in Space theme from December 2015 through January 2016. The 223-foot long Saturn 1B rocket located in the open air Rocket Garden served as a giant 6,528 by 1,050-pixel projection surface. AV Stumpfl gear was included in the setup, which made use of 80,000 lumens of projected light.

Foxes U.K. Tour Includes Robe Moving Lights

LONDON – Singer / songwriter Foxes (Louisa Rose Allen), whose vocals were featured on “Clarity” by Zedd, recently toured the U.K. with a new lighting design created by Jake Vernum. Working with LD Cate Carter of Bryte Design, the lighting looks relied upon Robe fixtures included five LEDWash 1200s, six Pointes and six LEDBeam 100s. At larger venues such as London’s Roundhouse, the tour rig was complemented by house-supplied lighting including additional Robe moving lights.

March Madness Music Festival Rig Includes Chauvet Professional Next NXT-1 Fixtures

HOUSTON -– The 2016 NCAA March Madness Music Festival, offering three days of music April 1-3 to Houston’s Discovery Green just prior to the April 4 final matchup between Villanova and North Carolina, drew huge crowds with a roster of headliners that included Maroon 5, Fall Out Boy and Pitbull, among others. John Dickson of LD Systems in Houston worked with Turner Live Events to create the rig with programming done by individual band LDs. Throughout the festival, the high-impact show gained energy from the rapid movements of the rig’s 32 Next NXT-1 moving LED panels from Chauvet Professional.

Classical Spectacular at London’s Royal Albert Hall Lit with Clay Paky Fixtures

LONDON – For the annual Classical Spectacular at London’s Royal Albert Hall March 17-20, LD Durham Marenghi used a symphony of Clay Paky Mythos, Sharpy, Sharpy Wash, Alpha Spot HPE 1500 and Alpha Spot HPE 700 fixtures to create a dynamic lighting show. Put on by the legendary classic music promoter Raymond Gubbay, the dramatic overtures were complemented by cannons, guns and 2,000 indoor fireworks, which brought the show to a thundering finale.
