Ayrton Stages Light Show at Prolight + Sound 2016 Featuring Nine New Products

FRANKFURT, Germany – Ayrton’s light show, staged at the company’s double decker stand at Prolight + Sound, featured nine of the company’s most recenty introduced products. Exhibiting with its German distributor, Vision Stage, at a 224 square meter, double-decker booth, the light show was designed by Stéphane Migné and made use of more than 650 fixtures in all.

Tinashe World Tour Features Elation Lighting and Video Rig

LOS ANGELES – Singer, dancer and actress Tinashe is out on her 2016 “Joyride” world tour beneath an Elation Professional rig of SixBar 1000 LED battens and Platinum 5R Beam moving heads with graphic elements displayed across an LED wall made up of Elation EMAG4 LED panels. Production designer Daunté Kenner worked with Jason Reberski of JR Lighting to support the show’s visuals with the lighting and video package, chosen in part for its efficiency.

INDIO, CA – The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which returned for back-to-back weekends April 15–17 and 22–24, 2016, once again offered visitors a huge, elaborate immersive environment with the Sahara Tent. Dubbed by the Los Angeles Times as “Coachella’s giant multimedia room that’s a shrine to partying first and partying always,” the temporary venue was once again built by AG Production Services, which provided staging, rigging, video and lighting.

Solotech Opens Nashville Office

NASHVILLE —Solotech announced April 18 that it has opened a new office in Nashville, TN. Led by Paul Owen, the office will develop new business opportunities in international touring and special events. Owen, who comes to Solotech from Thunder Audio, will work with Lee Moro, who joined Solotech as senior project director for tours and special events in Sept. 2014. Solotech also noted that Dianna Mariotti will work at the Nashville location as an administrative assistant.

Drunk Unkles Set to Perform at Hard Rock Hotel for Annual NSCE Fundraiser on June 8

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – The NSCA Education Foundation noted that the industry band, Drunk Unkles, will perform their first fundraiser of 2016 on Wed. June 8, 2016 from 8:30 to 11pm at Las Vegas’ Vinyl performance space within the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. In the 11th year of supporting the NSCA Education Foundation, the Drunk Unkles have raised more than $1 million through various fundraising efforts.

More Bands and Artists Cancel NC Gigs

RALEIGH, NC — Along with Bruce Springsteen, who announced April 8 that he and the E Street Band would not perform the April 10 concert slated for Greensboro, NC to protest the state’s HB2 “bathroom law,” other bands and artists have spoken out against the law, canceled shows or announced that proceeds from shows performed would go to LGBT causes. Those canceling gigs include Ringo Starr, Boston’s Tom Scholz and Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder. Others vowing to steer clear of the state include Dead & Company and Cirque du Soleil.
