KNOXVILLE, TN – The Knoxville Museum of Art’s primary annual fundraising event, L’Amour du Vin, was held for the 13th year March 5 despite the untimely death of Sam Beall, owner of food and wine sponsor Blackberry Farm, less than two weeks before the event. Beall, 39, grew up on his parents’ 4,200-acre farm and took over its management in 2002. The museum credited Beall and his team for taking the fundraising auction and dinner from a “nice, catered event” to “an amazing food and wine experience” after getting involved in 2006. Beall, 39, died Feb. 25 in a ski accident at Beaver Creek, CO. Bandit donated the lighting package for the wine auction and dinner, including GRNLite LED pars, Vari*Lite VL2500 Spots, ETC LED Lekos and Chauvet Freedom Par Quad-4 fixtures.

Lighting designer Victor Zeiser of Squeek Lights (New York) used them to light They Might Be Giants when they performed at the 71-year-old, 1,100-capacity venue on Feb. 4, complementing the house rig for that sold-out show with Chauvet DJ’s Intimidator Spot 355Z IRC fixtures supplied by Reading, U.K.-based Martin’s Lights.

DALLAS – For the National Cheerleading Association All-Star National Championship, held Feb. 19-21 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, Dallas-based Gemini Light, Sound & Video supplied lighting and video gear. For the event’s large upstage LED screen, Gemini supplied 448 Elation EPT6IP LED video panels. The 6.7mm pixel pitch LED screen measured 58.8 by 33.6 feet, WxH.
