PRAGUE, Czech Republic – Herbalife’s “Extravaganza” convention drew a total audience of close to 54,000 people to the O2 Arena in Prague this year. A design team that included technical manager Alessandro Giangi, LDs Luca Casadei and Claudio Tappi and set designers Emilia Covotta and Raffaele Persico wowed the crowd with a lighting rig that included D.T.S.’ Wonder moving lights. LONDON – For the fifth year, Creative Technology (CT) supported Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. Held at the O2 Arena, the men’s professional tennis competition included top-ranked singles players and doubles teams. Players compete for Emirates ATP Rankings points throughout the season in a bid to earn one of the eight coveted berths and a chance to win the $2,075,000 top prize.

Austin City Limits Music Festival Setup Includes Clay Paky Fixtures, grandMA Consoles

AUSTIN, TX – The Austin City Limits Music Festival returned to Zilker Park for two three-day weekends in October to showcase more than 130 rock, pop and hip hop artists on eight stages, including Outkast, Beck, Eminem, Skrillex, Calvin Harris and Pearl Jam.  Clay Paky A.leda B-EYE K20 and Sharpy fixtures and grandMA2 consoles were on hand to provide lighting support and control for festival performers.  A.C.T Lighting, Inc. is the exclusive distributor of Clay Paky lighting and MA products in North America. Eight K20s, supplied by LD Systems, were dedicated to each of two secondary headline stages and positioned in an upstage array across the rear truss.

Luci della Ribalta (LDR) introduced the Astro 200 LED Followspot at the LDI show last month. The 200W LED chip (with a 3200K or 5600K color temperature) promises to deliver comparable output to a 1kW TH followspot while being able to dim the light to 0.001% with one channel only. The Astro 200 LED was one of three featured products at LDI, joining the company’s Canto 2000 TH and Canto 1500 MSR models in Las Vegas. LDR was also marking its first year with U.S. distributor Canto USA.
