LOS ANGELES – The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards Show is billed as “television’s biggest night,” and Pete’s Big TVs was there for the first time to support the event, which was hosted by Seth Meyers. Pete’s Big TVs provided nearly 500 of their CS5 5mm LED tiles, two Barco HD-W26 projectors (double-stacked at the FOH) and their crew to fulfill the set requirements of production designer Keith Raywood.

Miranda Lambert Tour Gets Support from LD Chris Lisle, Bandit Lites, New Gear

NASHVILLE – For Miranda Lambert’s Platinum tour, in support of the artist’s latest album release, LD Chris Lisle specified a Bandit Lites-supplied rig that includes fixtures from Vari-Lite (VL3500 Washes), Martin (MAC Vipers) and Chauvet (Legend Beams and Nexus 7x7s) to complement the visual centerpiece, a 50-by-30 foot (WxH) picture frame/video screen element. Lisle built the Nexus panels into an “M” shaped thrust downstage that gave a little extra bonus in the form of eye-candy for those seated farther from the stage.

Live TV Show’s Glass Stage Breaks in Vietnam; 3 Injured

HO CHI MINH CITY – A glass stage that served as part of the TV set for the Vietnamese version of a Netherlands-based reality show cracked during the live production, injuring three. The second show of the second season of Giong Hat Viet Nhi, (The Voice of the Children), was underway at the Liberation Film Studio when the stage problem caused a cameraman to fall. Fog effects were in use, and two young dancers fell as well. Although all three were injured, none of the injuries were life-threatening or serious enough to require an extended hospital stay.
