Hexogon Solutions Provides Vibrant Projections for Singapore’s 49th National Day Celebration

SINGAPORE — Christie technology provided spectacular visuals which impressed the crowds that turned up at the Marina Bay Floating Platform to celebrate Singapore’s 49th birthday in a splash of splendid colors on August 9, 2014. The stunning spectacle was made possible by Christie’s rental staging partner Hexogon Solution Pte Ltd, which deployed a total of 40 Christie projectors comprising six Roadster HD18K and 34 Roadster HD20K-J 3-chip DLP projectors displaying a slew of multimedia content, including 3D effects, onto an enormous canvas measuring 80 meters by 40 meters for the highly-anticipated Show segment that featured 5,000 performers. This is the largest number of Christie projectors deployed at Singapore’s National Day Parade (NDP) to date, and the largest digital floor projection canvas ever used for the nation’s annual birthday extravaganza.

Netherlands Zwolle Live Music Venue Gets Refreshed with Robe Gear

Hedon, a well-known live music venue in Zwolle, the Netherlands, has recently had a full Robe moving light rig installed into its brand new building which features an 850 capacity main hall plus an equality active small room that can accommodate 200 people. The venue has been a local landmark for the last 15 years, showcasing an eclectic and vibrant mix of international and home-grown talent – anything from comedy to music of all types bands – with a hectic schedule of 25 – 30 shows every month. Emergent Entertainment Group Updates KVLA Studio with LED Lighting

KVLA Television in Huntington Beach, California, a unique TV station that broadcasts to the large Vietnamese speaking community in Southern California, has recently added two new studios and is using LED strip lighting from Elation Professional to color the sets. Christian Choi of Emergent Entertainment Group was production and lighting designer, as well as fabricator for the project, and explains that the client initially sought to create three areas within two studios – a segregated news area, two talk shows and a home shopping set (which was eventually postponed).

Chicago’s Historic Thalia Hall Reopens with Latest Technology

CHICAGO – To the college students and young urbanites who flock to it every weekend, Thalia Hall is one of the buzziest spots in Chicago, a place to kick back, down a local beer with friends, dine on some tasty food and enjoy national acts like Panda Bear and Goat as they perform on a stage illuminated by fixtures from Chauvet Professional. That’s also pretty much how things stood when this four story Romanesque structure opened in 1893 to serve the city’s burgeoning Czech population as a concert hall and social hub –except musical styles were different back then and there were no LED fixtures! However, in between then and now was a dark period when Thalia Hall, which was modeled after the Old Opera House in Prague, stood idle for decades before being given new life by a couple of visionary Chicago entrepreneurs.
