Shockwave Cargo Opens New LAX Location, Announces Key Personnel Changes

LOS ANGELES – Shockwave Cargo announced several personnel changes along with its new office location near LAX airport here. Noting Keith Mitchell’s departure, Shockwave welcomed Craig Kruger, a 35-year freight forwarding veteran (pictured here), as its new director of operations. The company also named Chris Gratton director of business development and announced that Benny Collins will play a key role on Shockwave Cargo’s sales team.

U.K. Tour for Wicked and London Revival for Miss Saigon Relying on ETC Control Solutions

LONDON – The U.K. tour of Wicked (pictured here) and the West End revival of Miss Saigon both relied upon an Eos Ti system to control their complex lighting rigs. For Wicked, ETC dealer PRG provided Ti, Ion and Gio consoles, Remote Processor Units (RPU3), and a Remote Video Interface (RVI) along with a variety of lighting fixtures. For Miss Saigon, the setup included two Ti desks and an Ion console, and LD Bruno Poet and programmer Warren Letton credited the recent Eos-family software update for helping things go smoothly.

USITT 365 App Targets an Industry On the Go

FORT WORTH, TX – The popularity of the app that USITT created for its annual Conference & Stage Expo, held here in late March, has led to the creation of an app that can be used by USITT members year-round. “When we had more than 4,000 downloads from people wanting up to date information about our Conference, we knew we had to find a way to make that happen year-round,” said David Grindle, USITT executive director. USITT 365 is available for most mobile technologies, from iPads to Androids, and is available from links at the association’s website.

Microsoft’s Xbox Media Event Lit with Elation ELAR Q1 Fixtures

LOS ANGELES – Microsoft’s press conference for its Xbox offerings at the E3 video gaming convention, held at the Galen Center here shortly before the convention got underway, featured 136 Elation ELAR Q1 color changing Par light fixtures. The ELAR Q1s were used to enhance the set from two locations, the first a grid of 100 fixtures directly behind the Xbox logo, covering most of the upstage scenic; and the other on the set’s traveling scenic walls, where 36 fixtures were used to create accents and wisps of green highlights on the set structure.
