Renegade Lights “Atomic Bomb Tour” featuring David Byrne

LONDON – Nick Gray of Renegade, based here, created the lighting and visuals scheme for the “Atomic Bomb” tour by a new international super-group led by David Byrne to honor the work of obscure Nigerian funk musician William Onyeabor. Onyeabor’s distinctive rhythmic, funkadelic, spacey synthesiser-orientated grooves were composed in the 1970s and 1980s when he was a prolific composer / performer. Since then he has gained a cult following among musicians and music aficionados.

BRUSSELS, BE – ArKaos PRO’s Australian distributor, ULA Group, once again sponsored the BMW Bruce Lynton Charity Ball, held in May at the RACV Royal Pines Resort on Australia’s Gold Coast. HAMBURG, Germany – For Scooter’s European tour, 20 Years of Hardcore, German LD Jerry Appelt chose a rig that is amply represented by Clay Paky fixtures: more than 100 Sharpys, 26 Alpha Spot HPE 1500s and 12 Alpha Beam 1500s. PRG Hamburg provided the gear.

MACAO – LD Alessio de Simone credited CAST Software’s wysiwyg for its pre-viz assist withThe Rhythm Of Life, a multimedia show presented in Macao’s ancient city center. “We placed all the projectors as called-for in our wysiwyg documentation, turned on all the moving heads – and every scene position was exactly as it had been in our pre-visualization. With small adjustments for pan and tilt, gobos and beams were perfect – just like they had appeared in our designs, 10,000km away,” de Simone said. 

LONDON – Mojo Barriers is keeping McBusted’s screaming fans safe as the British supergroup heads across the UK on its first ever arena tour. Working to CAD drawings Mojo is providing 48m of standard aluminium barriers and corners configured to form a golden circle which is situated inside the curved catwalk, alongside a secondary barrier line. A further 40m is used on the C-stage.
