HONG KONG — Although the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, which opened in 1989, has long featured an adjustable acoustic canopy within its 2,019-seat Concert Hall, a mock-up extension of the over-stage reflector was installed in August 2013 as a temporary enhancement. LOS ANGELES — Filmed one day after this year’s Grammy Awards, and broadcast on CBS on Feb. 9 and Feb. 12, The Beatles: The Night That Changed America used Vari-Lite lighting fixtures to help Grammy organizers mark 50 years since the band first performed on The Ed Sullivan Show. LD Matt Firestone chose the fixtures for the production, which was filmed at the Los Angeles Convention Center and presented by the Recording Academy, AEG Ehrlich Ventures and CBS.

LAKE FOREST, CA — Saddleback Church called CCI Solutions with an Easter challenge. With as many as 35,000 converging at the campus here for holiday services, the church needed LED walls in two of the tents erected for overflow crowds. CGI Solutions turned to Absen to obtain the required 3.9mm LED video gear with a three-week turnaround. The result: a 9.84 by 16.4 foot video wall for Tent 2 and 6.56 by 11.48 foot video wall for Tent 3.
