Milan Piazza Lit for the Holidays with Clay Paky Gear

MILAN, Italy — Piazza della Scala, near Milan’s opera house, lit up with a holiday-themed son et lumière show titled Polvere di Stelle (stardust). It ran Dec. 16-Jan. 7. Working for the Milan City Council and others, show designer Sebastiano Romano used seven Clay Paky Alpha Profile 1500s to project images of stars along with greetings in different languages over the entire square and on the façades of surrounding buildings.

Iowa Park Transforms with Artistic Lighting Design

COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA — Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park here borders the Missouri River, which separates Council Bluffs and Iowa from Omaha, Nebraska.  Artist Dan Corson recently designed a light show for the park using Martin Professional fixtures provided by Bandit Lites. Corson used 16 Martin Exterior 1200 Image Projectors with custom gobos mounted on 35-foot poles and four MAC III Profile fixtures with custom gobos in Tempest enclosures mounted on 14-foot poles.

LONDERZEEL, Belgium — Painting With Light worked with LD Luc Peumans on the visuals for a new music quiz-and-talent show, Sing That Song. It was recorded in front of a live audience at Londerzeel Studios and broadcast weekly on Belgium’s national TV channel, VRT. The grandMA2-controlled lighting rig included 38 Clay Paky Sharpys, 12 Robe LEDWash 600s, 72 Showtec Spectral M800 LED fixtures, 45 Fresnels (1K and 2K) and 24 Showtec Active Sunstrips.

TEL AVIV, Israel — “Festigal,” a musical show for children, runs for five weeks each year during Hanukkah in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa and Beersheva, Israel. The Tel Aviv event took place several times daily at the 6,500-capacity arena within the city’s Exhibition Centre. LD Ronen Najar’s lighting design included Robe moving lights in the rig.
