Art Basel Fair Draws 75,000+, Alexander Mijares Gallery Lit with Chauvet Fixtures
MIAMI BEACH, FL — The 12th annual Art Basel in Miami Beach event, a spinoff of an annual Swiss arts event dating back to 1970, drew a record 75,000 in early December to see and buy offerings from 258 galleries from 31 countries. The estimated total value of the artwork changing hands: $3 billion. At the Alexander Mijares Gallery, LD Ruben Laine used Chauvet Professional fixtures to bring attention to — and ultimately sell — artwork on display.

4UTC Designs Videotron Mobile Stage for Igloofest 2014
MONTREAL — Igloofest will return to Montreal with cold-weather outdoor revelry set for Jan. 16-18, 23-25, Jan. 30-Feb. 1 and Feb. 6-8. The event is co-produced by Piknic Electronik and the Quays of the Old Port, the section of the city where the event takes place. Tens of thousands are expected to brave the harsh conditions, including, of course, the supporting crew. 4U2C, headed by Yves Aucoin, issued a press release on its design for the Videotron Mobile stage.
