Elation Platinum Wash 16R Pro

Elation’s Platinum Wash 16R Pro is a low wattage yet high-output moving head luminaire powered by Platinum lamp technology. Designed to use the new 1,500-hour Platinum MSD 16R lamp from Philips (330W, 16,000 lumens), this moving head functions as both a beam and wash luminaire. Features include CMY color mixing plus fixed colors, 6.5-to-48-degree motorized zoom, beam shaper and shutter/dimmer. The fixture also has an EWDMX receiver built in. Compact yet powerful, output is comparable to 1,000 watt units but in a smaller, more energy efficient design.

The Forum is Reborn

INGLEWOOD, CA – The L.A. Forum, also known simply as The Forum, is reopening in a big way Jan. 15 after a $100 million remodeling project – with the kickoff show for the “History of the Eagles” tour, capped off with the world’s biggest record rotating on the roof.  Along with hundreds of concerts, the storied venue has hosted NBA championships, Summer Olympics basketball and numerous movie shoots. It was acquired by the Madison Square Garden Company (MSG) in 2012, bringing the venue full circle in a way – it was designed by architect Charles Luckman, who also did Madison Square Garden.

Chainmaster Gear Handling Heavy Lifting at Winter Olympics Venues

SOCHI, Russia — Several venues to be used Feb. 7-23 for the 2014 Winter Olympics have been equipped with hoists made by Chainmaster. Among the largest: the Bolshoy Ice Dome (pictured here) and the Iceberg Skating Palace, each of which can accommodate 12,000 spectators. Chainmaster, based in Eilenburg, Germany, has been active in Russia and its neighboring countries since 1998. The company opened its Chainmaster Consulting Office Russia in 2004.
