Copenhagen’s Blue Planet Aquarium Immerses its Visitors in the World of the Sea

COPENHAGEN, Denmark – The design goal of The Blue Planet, Denmark’s new national aquarium, was to make the aquarium’s visitors feel like they had entered the world of the sea surrounding it. Using Rosco’s X24 Effects Projector, lighting Designer Jesper Garde Kongshaug created a realistic and controllable water effect to accomplish that goal as he projected that effect throughout the vast concourse areas inside the aquarium.

Apollo Design AVID 5 & AVID 7 LED Fixtures

Apollo Design Technology’s AVID 7 (pictured here) and AVID 5, introduced at LDI 2013, were both designed, manufactured and assembled in Apollo Design’s Fort Wayne, IN factory.  They are made from billet aluminum and are anodized.  The AVID 7 Wash features seven Osram RGBW OStar LEDs.  The AVID 5 is designed with the Osram Ultra LED medium screw base PAR 38 lamp.  The lamp features a CRI of 95, color temperature of 3,000K and 12 or 30 degree beam angles.

ETC’s iRFR Donations to Behind the Scenes Approach $150,000

LAS VEGAS — At the LDI show here in late November, Dennis Varian of ETC presented a check for nearly $26,000 to Behind the Scenes, which reflected ongoing proceeds from sales of ETC’s iRFR and aRFR (Radio Focus Remote) application for iPhone, iPod Touch and Android. The donation brings ETC’s total Behind the Scenes contributions to date to just under $150,000.
