BRUSSELS, Belgium — Radio Télévision Belge Francophone (RTBF), the public broadcasting organization for the southern, French-speaking portion of Belgium, aired a charity fundraiser on behalf of CAP48, an organization that helps the disabled. The live broadcast relied in part on SGM LED tubes for its visual appeal. Jean-Jacques Marotte was the LD.

Xbox One Preview at Microsoft HQ Got Visual Assist from Avolites Media Ai Servers

REDMOND, WA — For the announcement and preview earlier this year of the Xbox One video game console at Microsoft’s headquarters here, two Avolites Media Ai Infinity Servers powered visuals designed by film studios, game developers and Microsoft’s in-house team. The AV setup included 12 stacked 22K projectors. Xbox One, which features an AMD processor eight times faster than the Xbox 360, is due to be released Nov. 22, 2013.

TLS Productions Inc. Opens Doors in Ann Arbor, MI

ANN ARBOR, MI — TLS Productions Inc., which had announced plans to move from its facility in Brighton, MI to a larger space in Ann Arbor, MI earlier this year, noted that the new facility, with approximately double the office and warehouse space of the Brighton location, has now opened its doors. After years at Earl’s Court, PLASA moved its annual exhibition to open, airy and modern ExCeL London for 2013. More than 11,000 attended, including 2,200 international visitors from at least 84 countries, and the educational program included highlights from Eurovision 2013, the Glastonbury festival, West End theatrical productions and the 2013 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Contemporary Artists Light Up The Dallas Night

DALLAS — On October 18, the entire 19-block area of the Arts District here was used as an outdoor canvas for an immersive contemporary display of light art dubbed Dallas Aurora. Themed “Light of Convergence,” the project’s goal is to presents light art to the public in unique and unexpected ways, creating a visual interplay with the existing buildings, streets and surfaces of the arts district area. Participating artists showcased nearly 90 works involving lighting, projection, sound and performance art.
