NEWPORT NEWS, VA — James Thomas “Jack” Warlitner, Jr. died Sept. 23 after a short illness. After 20 years of active duty in the U.S. Navy, Warlitner put his ship rigging climbing skills to work for theatrical supplier McManus Enterprises. FORT WORTH, TX — They say everything’s bigger in Texas, and the state’s sporting venues keep proving it with the size of their video screens. Even the mammoth screen within Cowboys Stadium will be dwarfed when “Big Hoss,” the nickname for the 208-by-94.5-foot, 108-ton HD (1080p) from Panasonic rises over the backstretch of Texas Motor Speedway for the 2014 racing season.
