Design: “Minimalistic. With just 12 feet of truck space, the tour counts on filling front and back trusses with local gear and 14 moving lights. Plant always wants par cans as side light; he loves the ‘70s feel. But at some points he wants psychedelic looks. As this tour would travel to South America with active crowds, Plant thought ‘let’s do some flash, some fun’ in the lighting looks to appeal to dance-oriented crowds.”
HOUSTON – For 20 shows, 20 days and 20 lighting designers, Green Hippo’s Hippotizer saddled up at Houston’s Reliant Stadium and went the distance at this year’s Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The annual Texas extravaganza featured nightly concerts by some of the biggest names in music, enhanced by video content wrangled and programmed by John Dickson of LD Systems in Houston.

Read More »SHELBY, NC — MercyMe band members and crew were performing a sound check at about 3:30 p.m. on Saturday Aug. 10 for a concert associated with the American Legion World Series when the event’s organizers noticed a wind shift and grew concerned about its intensity. Less than a minute after they evacuated the stage, a wind gust toppled the structure. The concert, also featuring Aaron Shust and The Afters, was canceled.
