Moving Light Assistant
Moving Light Assistant is a new software title for the entertainment lighting industry. Many of us have either grown up on John McKernon’s Lightwright software or have gone “home brew” by creating our own paperwork in Excel. Moving Light Assistant fills a new segment in tracking data between the designer, the console and multi-attributed devices.
Keeping tabs on a moving light is a bit more challenging than a standard dimming circuit. Rather than just one attribute to track, each moving light has at least two, and usually multiple, attributes, and it can be mind boggling to keep track of all the individual fixture variables across an expansive lighting rig.

MIAMI – Robe moving lights were central to the stage lighting design for the “Chosen Generation Conference – Supernatural Revolution” event staged at the King Jesus International Ministry (KJM) in Miami. The Supernatural Revolution event was shot in HD and broadcast globally by KJM, so it needed to look great on camera as well as live.

Robe and Anolis products are featured in the rig. In terms of cues and operation, the requirement was for lighting to be slick, smooth and streamlined, as the show’s different sections segued together and the contestants bet their money on answering eight questions correctly.

LONDON – XL Video supplied projection, LED screens, cameras and Catalyst control to the first UK arena tour by Plan B (Ben Drew). Creative Director and Lighting / Visuals designer Louis Oliver and Ben Drew developed the stage look together and came to XL Video with a plan. XL’s Project Manager Paul “Macca” McCauley demonstrated several options including the potential of effects like masking and mapping before they chose a hardware and software solution for the tour, which gave the stage an epic cinematic appearance.
