Switch Uses Pixel Mapping for St. Louis Arts Awards

ST. LOUIS – Experiential marketing agency Switch: Liberate Your Brand produced the stage show and video segments Jan. 21 for the St. Louis Arts Awards. The event at the Chase Park Plaza also honored local native musician Chuck Berry with a Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award. To set the scene, Switched used pixel mapping with Barco FLM-HD20 projectors to project 3-D animation effects. The project took two weeks from conception to completion.

NEW ORLEANS — Despite rumors that the extra amperage pumped into lighting and video for Beyonce’s well-received halftime show had something to do with the power disruption that put Super Bowl XLVII on hold, stadium management noted that the halftime spectacle was run off of generated power and an “abnormality” in one of the two feeder lines that power the stadium from an external substation was to blame. Lots of people — an all-time record, according to CBS — noticed the glitch, which disrupted the game from 7:37 pm to 8:30 pm.

NEW CASTLE, DE – Video equipment rental company Pete’s Big TVs provided 330 high resolution LED video screens, along with projectors, monitors and crew for the 2013 BET Honors at the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC. The LED video panels used are audibly silent and electrically silent, so there was no interference with any wireless devices in the production. The show airs Feb. 11 on BET.
