Some Good News with Arts Funding

The Shubert Foundation recently announced a record $37.6 million in grants for not-for-profit theater and dance companies along with $2 million for two HBCU colleges. Another bright spot on the horizon: Ruth Arts, created on behalf of the late arts philanthropist Ruth DeYoung Kohler II, has plans for a wide array of grants totaling more than $17 million annually.

Video of the Week: ‘Russian Doll’ Takes a Subway Ride Using LED Video

4Wall’s Virtual Production team was tasked to create a video panel wall that wrapped around a practical subway car to create a simulated effect of the subway rolling down the tracks for a pivotal scene in an episode of Netflix’s Russian Doll. They utilized Absen M2.9 LED video panels controlled via disguise media servers along with ARRI SkyPanels and Chroma-Q Chroma-Q Studio Force II LED battens to pull off the desired look.

Nashville Celebrates Independence Day with Bandit Lites

Hundreds of thousands of people gathered in downtown Nashville to celebrate the Fourth of July with a big concert event and fireworks show in the heart of Music City. Bandit Lites provided lighting for two stages: the main stage on Broadway featuring Old Dominion and 17 Nashville-based artists, and the Ascend Amphitheater where the Nashville Symphony Orchestra performed.
