d3 Supports Blink-182’s Worldwide “California Tour”

WORLD – d3 is accompanying American rock band Blink-182 for their headlining worldwide “California Tour” .  The ongoing tour, in support of the band’s seventh studio album, called “California,” began last summer; its first international leg concluded in October 2016.  The US leg of the 2017 tour wrapped up in May.  European and other international dates follow through autumn. Blink-182 uses d3 to map lights, control multiple feed maps on the same surfaces and provide direct Art-Net control of some playback layers. d3 Designer, the software-only version of the d3 production suite is also used offline for programming and visualization.

NASHVILLE – Multiple Grammy Award winning singer songwriter Sheryl Crow is on the road with her new ‘Be Myself’ album, together with a brand-new lighting & scenic concept created by LD Jeremy Roth which includes Robe Spiider and BMFL Spot moving lights. Jeremy landed the gig after production manager Rick Purcell saw his designs for the current tour by Chicago alt-rockers Wilco … and made Sheryl aware of his work. They and her management team all wanted a more theatrical presentation that was based on soft scenic elements.

2017 Bridge School Benefit Concert Canceled

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – After Neil Young and friends launched inaugural Bridge School Benefit Concert in Oct. 1986, the concert, which raises funds for a school for special-needs students, had a 30-year run, raising millions with top acts pitching in to support the cause. A 2017 concert, however, will not take place. Concert founders Neil and Pegi Young, who divorced in 2014, cited personal reasons for the cancellation.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra Planning 2017 Fall/Winter Tour

NEW YORK – Trans-Siberian Orchestra announced in late June that it is planning a tour this fall despite the death of TSO producer, composer and lyricist Paul O’Neill on April 5. The theme for the 2017 tours will mirror those for the band’s successful tours in 2015 and 2016, “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve.”
