Stage Managers’ Association Foundation Announces Spring Grants

An arts organization and four individuals have been selected to receive  monetary  grants from the Stage Managers’ Association Foundation (SMAF) in the Foundation’s Spring 2024 grant cycle. A grant has been awarded to the Mosesian Center for the Arts (Watertown, MA), which sought funding to sustain and grow the Stage Manager Training program at Watertown Children’s Theatre. A Glimpse of the Winter Tour of Billy Strings

The PLSN April issue cover story looks at the design and production work on Billy Strings tour, featuring Lighting Designer Roger Gant, principal of RogerThat LLC; the production design, video content, and set extensions from the team at Lüz Studio. Blackmagic Design’s NAB Update kicked off today with several significant announcements, including the URSA Cine 12K digital film camera with a brand new large format sensor; its first box-style digital film camera, the Blackmagic PYXIS 6K; DaVinci Resolve 19 with new AI tools and more than 100 feature updates, new DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel, and new live replay capabilities for live production and broadcast, including DaVinci Resolve Replay Editor hardware; a new range of SMPTE-2110 IP video products, including converters, video monitors, audio monitors and camera updates; and more. Gateway Studios Elevates Viewing for 500K Tennis Fans

Gateway Studios & Production Services (GSPS) continued its partnership with BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament in Indian Wells, CA to elevate attendees’ viewing experience. At the two record-breaking weeks, attendance reached nearly 500,000. The work included installations that added on-court presentation to two of the stadiums. The company also implemented video screens for live coverage of all 29 of the facility’s tennis courts.

As Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine continues, Zinteco Productions, a cornerstone in Ukraine’s entertainment production community for over 25 years, needs our help. The ongoing conflict has brought the Ukrainian entertainment industry, like all normal life, to a standstill, and Zinteco’s operations have been severely impacted.
