Lollapalooza Argentina 2017 Lighting Includes Chauvet Professional Fixtures
SAN ISIDRO, Argentina – Buenos Aires-based Descableados installed 50 Chauvet Professional WELL Fit fixtures supplied by NASH Ingeniería for the crowds attending Lollapalooza Argentina 2017, which took place March 31 and April 1 at the Hipódromo de San Isidro horse racing track near Buenos Aires. The battery powered and wirelessly controlled IP65 rated fixtures were used to uplight a massive “Love Is All” sign/sculpture.

SPLIT, Croatia – Prljavo Kazalište launched a tour celebrating 40 years of hits with a concert at the Spaladium Arena in Split. LD Sven Kučinić of LumiLas LLC specified Robe fixtures, including 20 MMX Spots, 12 MMX WashBeams and 16 Pointes as the main moving light fixtures.

The Little Things in Life
Last month I crossed the pond in search of the latest toys in the lighting, video and staging world, as I do every April at the Prolight + Sound show in Germany. I saw some new products, but what I noticed most were a lot of companies rehashing old fixtures with newer ones that featured a new function or different light source. Lots of clever ideas to modify existing technology. But none of that jumped out as fresh and innovative, other than a couple items.
