UK – Lighting designer, Louisa Smurthwaite utilized the award-winning Jands Vista system to provide an elegant lighting design for hotly tipped Oxford indie rock band, Glass Animals’ recent biggest UK headline show at London’s iconic Roundhouse venue. Their latest album, How To Be A Human Being, was released in August to much critical acclaim, and their debut amassed over 200 million Spotify streams.

BRADFORD, YORKSHIRE, UK, – TAC (The Audiovisual Company) in Portugal has upgraded its media presentation rooms and main stadium LED displays at FC Porto, Dragão Stadium with Calibre LEDView720 and LEDView730 4K scalers. Eduardo Costa, General Technical Manager at TAC said: “We use Calibre to adapt input resolution to the main stadium LED Screens during live games or for digital signage at corporate events. The scalers have multiple output for local monitoring of live output feeds.”
TRENTO, ITALY – Twelve Robe BMFL WashBeams were utilized by artist and lighting designer Mariano de Tassis in a breath-taking and installation at the mausoleum of Italian patriot and Irredentist Cesare Battisti in Trento, Italy. The installation was produced by Filmwork Factory to celebrate the centenary of the death of Battisti. The original idea of highlighting the mausoleum with 12 powerful beams shooting up into the night sky to match the 12 columns of the monument was Mariano’s himself, pitched to the Municipality of Trento.

HANNOVER, De. –: the Daimler AG booth was illuminated with the latest fixtures from GLP at the world’s most important trade fair for commercial transport and logistics, which took place in Hannover in late September. The world market leader in commercial vehicles presented 70 trucks, vans and buses from brands Mercedes-Benz, Fuso and Setra. The premieres were brought to life thanks to an impressive 144 GT-1 discharge lamp fixtures from GLP.

UK – Colour Sound Experiment is supplying lighting for the current Tom Odell tour, a lively mix of dynamics and style created by Jonny Gaskell who has been on-board with the popular singer / songwriter since April this year. The current touring campaign follows the launch of his second studio album, “Wrong Crowd”. The tour started earlier in the year and included a festival run, with this leg being the first full on production design tour carrying a full lighting rig … for which west London based Colour Sound made some new investments.

BROOMFIELD, CO – Southern rock band Widespread Panic returned to the road for their annual Halloween extravaganza with a lighting package provided by Bandit Lites. The ten day tour treated the jam band’s diehard fan base with both Widespread Panic’s own psychedelic songs and covers including Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid” (complete with a confetti cannon) that hadn’t been played by the band since 1987.

NELSON, NEW ZEALAND – A prominent rocky outgroup in Tasman Bay, Nelson’s Fifeshire Rock was once feared as a shipping hazard. In years since, it has become one of New Zealand’s treasured national landmarks. Standing some 14 meters above the high tide mark, it is often the subject of photography and artworks. Recently, Nelson’s Civic Trust desired to make the rock an round-the-clock attraction by lighting it.
